Our partner — a leading European fintech company providing scalable and secure payment infrastructure — is hiring a System Analyst for an 18-month fixed-term position to join their Product team.
They build and operate a payment gateway used by merchants and financial institutions of any size. Their platform handles high volumes of live payment activity every day, supports dozens of connectors, and is evolving fast. This is a hands-on, product-facing role that requires both analytical thinking and technical fluency. The System Analyst will work closely with product managers, developers, QA, and technical support to define, deliver, and follow through on features that power real-world payments.
Responsibilities:
- Gather and clarify both business and technical requirements from internal and
external stakeholders. - Analyze third-party API documentation and define how new integrations should work in
our system. - Create functional specifications, flow diagrams, and low-fidelity UI mockups to
support implementation. - Support technical support by helping investigate client questions and production
issues, using SQL and logs to trace behavior and identify root causes. - Use tools like Postman to test APIs and validate assumptions during design or
debugging. - Follow through on your features from discovery to production launch, ensuring they
function as expected and edge cases are handled. - Collaborate with developers and QA to ensure that specifications are understood,
testable, and complete.
Requirements:
- Experience as a system or business analyst in payments, fintech, or complex
transactional systems. - Strong understanding of REST APIs and how to break down data flows and integration
logic. - Comfortable working with SQL, reading application logs, and performing basic
technical investigations. - Familiarity with tools like Postman, Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
- Ability to think through edge cases, raise the right questions, and maintain clarity when
working with evolving requirements. - Proactive mindset and ability to follow through on features until they are successfully
launched and stable.
Nice to have:
- Have experience with payment gateways, card acquiring, alternative payment methods,
