Join a fast-growing company within a fintech group of online consumer lending operations spanning Malaysia, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Peru and Spain, and headquartered in Riga, Latvia. Our client reached profitability within only a few months of launch and has already processed tens of thousands of loans – a pace of growth that is rare even within fintech. The company runs its own data infrastructure, scoring models and reporting tools to power the full lending lifecycle, from customer scoring to collections.
They believe AI is fundamentally changing how companies operate. While many organizations are still focused on traditional business intelligence, dashboards and legacy data analytics, our client's ambition goes much further – the company is looking for someone who will drive AI implementation across every function of the business – from customer acquisition and underwriting to customer service, debt collection, finance, reporting and internal productivity. Part of your role will be improving existing analytical capabilities, but an equally important part will be identifying entirely new ways AI can create business value that simply was not possible a few years ago.
Few companies give you the power to shape how AI is used across an entire organization, the speed of a startup, and the backing of an established international group all at once.
What you will do:
• Manage data collection, cleaning, parsing and integration across internal and external sources such as customer registration information, credit bureaus, KYC services, payment providers and fraud prevention vendors, including testing new vendors and running proof-of-concepts and cost-benefit analyses.
• Deep-dive into customer profiles (lifestyle, habits, needs, financial situation) from both top-down and bottom-up perspectives to build customer stories and identify opportunities aligned with the business model and future growth.
• Prepare the roadmap and white paper, and lead the implementation of AI across the entire organization: from product offering and customer communication to chatbots in operations, workflows in debt collection, profitability analytics and forecasting in finance, and reporting applications.
• Independently build and validate credit scorecards and risk models (single- and multi-factor, calibration, validation), and support the wider AI & Data Science team in their design and implementation.
• Work closely with Marketing, Customer Care, Debt Collection, Risk, Finance and Technology teams to embed AI and advanced analytics into daily routines, processes and workflows.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends in AI/ML, modelling and FinTech analytics.
What we are looking for:
• 2+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, AI Engineering, Risk Analytics or a similar analytical role.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, predictive analytics and statistical modelling.
• Excellent programming skills in Python, SQL and R.
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Genuine, strong interest and curiosity in AI, with the drive for continuous self-driven learning.
• Positive, proactive can-do attitude, strong analytical skills and clear communication.
• Fluent English.
Bonus if you have:
• Experience using modern AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or GitHub Copilot.
What we offer:
• Net salary of 3500–4500 EUR, depending on skills and experience.
• Health insurance.
• Hybrid work mode (3 days/week at the office, negotiable for the right candidate), with flexible working hours (starting between 7 and 10 AM)
• No culture of mandatory overtime or weekend work.
• Company-paid parking.
• Relocation support, including assistance with residence permits for foreign candidates.
• A results-oriented, non-corporate management style, in a startup-like international environment.
• Hands-on experience implementing AI across an entire organization – an increasingly rare and highly valuable skill that will give you a competitive advantage throughout your career.
Hiring process:
• Screening call with Tech Recruitment.
• First interview with the Head of Risk and the Head of Data Science & AI.
• Second interview with the Head of Risk and the CEO of the Malaysia business.
