This is the first Lead iOS hire. You will own the iOS technical roadmap, set engineering standards from scratch, and mentor the iOS team. No formal direct reports: influence comes from expertise, not hierarchy.
The split is about 90% hands-on coding and 10% technical leadership. You report to the MobApp Tech Lead and act as the iOS voice in every cross-functional discussion with Product, Design, Backend, and QA.
What you bring
- 6+ years of commercial iOS development in Swift
- Deep UIKit mastery plus solid SwiftUI production experience
- Swift Concurrency (async/await) and Combine in production
- Strong architectural thinking: MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture, and the trade-offs between them
- CI/CD ownership: Fastlane, GitLab CI or Xcode Cloud
- Full App Store lifecycle: provisioning, TestFlight, submission, App Review
- Testing culture: XCTest, testable code, high standards enforced in code review
- iOS security: Keychain, Secure Enclave, biometric auth, certificate pinning, jailbreak detection
- REST API integration with robust error handling, retry logic, token refresh
- Proven technical leadership and mentorship with measurable results
- High ownership mindset and clear cross-functional communication
- English B2+

- Fintech, crypto, payments or banking app experience
- KYC SDK integration (Sumsub, Onfido) or payment SDKs (Stripe, Checkout.com)
- Real-time data: WebSocket, SSE
- Modular iOS architecture (Swift Packages, feature modules)
- Firebase suite, performance profiling with Instruments
- Experience interviewing iOS engineers
