Our client, a Latvian company established in 2015, is the world-leading robot-enabled wind turbine maintenance and inspection service provider. Leveraging patented robotics technology, their service teams deliver faster, safer and more effective services for wind operators in 25 countries worldwide by using their intelligent predictive maintenance of wind turbine blades and towers. They serve customers representing over 50 % of the world’s wind power capacity.
They are growing their team and are now looking for a Senior PHP Back-end Developer to join their team in Riga. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, values clean code, and is eager to contribute to a critical, high-impact platform.
What You Will Do
- Develop and maintain robust back-end solutions for internal tools and customer-facing systems
- Build reliable REST APIs for front-end teams
- Collaborate with a team of developers in a fast-moving Agile environment
- Maintain clean, reusable, and efficient code following industry best practices
- Optimize performance and database queries (primarily with PostgreSQL)
- Create and maintain automated back-end testing solutions
- Contribute to defining and enforcing internal development standards
- Participate in solution delivery, ensuring high code quality and alignment with business requirements
- Document code and processes within repositories and internal systems
Requirements
- ~5 years of experience with PHP and related back-end languages
- Solid hands-on experience with Symfony or Laravel or Yii
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL (including query optimization and ORM usage)
- Comfortable working with Linux, Docker, and bash scripting
- Familiarity with Git version control and collaborative workflows (multiple branches, merge conflicts, reviews)
- Ability to work on-site in Riga (after probation period hybrid approach is possible)
- Fluent in Latvian and English
Nice to Have (not mandatory to apply)
- Experience working with Google Cloud
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices
- Contributions to open-source projects
- Experience with AI-based coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor)
