Site Reliability Engineer

Our client is a global car rental platform operating in over 150 countries. With 13 years of experience and a team of more than 200+ professionals from more than 40 nationalities, they are rapidly expanding and continuously investing in product innovation and infrastructure reliability.

To support this growth, they are now looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their internal engineering team in Riga. The SRE will help ensure high system availability and performance by maintaining infrastructure, automating key processes, and driving forward a large-scale disaster recovery initiative.

What You Will Do

  • Administer and optimize infrastructure hosted on dedicated servers
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHub Actions
  • Support engineering teams by packaging and deploying applications
  • Participate in the creation of a disaster recovery environment
  • Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues
  • Maintain and improve monitoring and alerting systems
  • Automate repetitive tasks using tools like Ansible and Terraform
  • Provide expertise in Linux systems, networking, and database administration
  • Help migrate legacy systems to Kubernetes

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience working with production-grade systems
  • Strong Linux system administration experience
  • Experience with Kubernetes in production environments (including cluster setup and troubleshooting)
  • Hands-on experience with Docker or Podman
  • CI/CD pipeline creation (GitLab or similar tools)
  • Experience with Git for version control
  • Networking knowledge
  • Basic scripting (Bash, Python)
  • Experience with IaC tools: Terraform and Ansible
  • Database administration (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with HTTP protocols and troubleshooting web apps
  • Monitoring tools: Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus
  • Web servers/load balancers: Nginx, HaProxy
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Fluent in Latvian and English

Nice to Have

  • Certifications (CKA/CKAD, AWS/GCP/Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • Experience with PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, GDPR
  • Familiarity with cloud tools (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Infrastructure cost optimization experience
  • Basic knowledge of Javascript or Node.js
