Database Administrator

Our partner, one of the leading insurance companies in the Nordic region, is developing next-generation insurance systems.‍They work with more than 25 various in-house development projects across Baltic and Scandinavian countries, using the newest technologies, teamwork, and continuous knowledge sharing. Their IT Unit consists of more than 300 IT specialists in Riga and around 800 IT specialists in the whole group.

‍Location: Riga, Latvia. A mix of office and remote work (also possible fully remote job opportunity).

‍The Database Administrator’s duties will be - to maintain and develop the existing MS SQL Server platform according to best practices and monitor and act on alerts and user requests.‍

What your day will look like:‍

• Participating in SQL Service extension to Azure cloud (IaaS, PaaS)
• Administrating, maintaining, and developing an MS SQL environment for best performance (on-premises and cloud)
• Supporting application development teams for migrating to the cloud, capacity planning, and performance tuning

‍Requirements:‍

• Azure cloud knowledge
• Experience with Azure SQL DB, Elastic pools, Azure Managed Instances
• Scripting and automation (ARM, Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, or DevOps pipelines)
• Fluency in English

‍Nice to have:‍

• Experience in SQL Server administration (including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS)
• Azure data factory knowledge
